"Virtual Conference Set" Even before it happens!!

Although "Virtual Conferencing" is a recent addition to the services offered by HCVF, our Conference Department been creating realistic 3D virtual images of proposed conferences for clients for some time. Just give us a photo of the venue or tell us where it is (we know most venues in the Highlands) and we can design a suitable set, dressed with your company branding, and create a 3D computer generated image to let you visualise how your event will look.

Two of the photographs on the right show a concept illustration followed by the actual event.

High Definition and Blu-ray Disk

HCVF has always endeavoured to keep up with advances in technology and continue to offer high quality video productions. The company can now shoot video in High Definition 1080i on Sony XDcam HD 350 camcorder, edit on Avid Media Composer Adrenaline HD and deliver the final product on High Definition Blu-ray disk.

Web-casting, Pod-casting and the Kirking of the Council

Whereas "The Kirking" is a tradition in the Highland Capital city dating back hundreds of years, Web-casting and Pod-casting have only recently appeared on the scene. Read more about these and how they came together in Wells Street Studios in our flyer

UHI Annual Lecture 2008 in Elgin

HCVF has been associated with the highly prestigious University of the Highlands and Islands Annual Lectures since they first began and this year was no exception, although the venue, in the cooperage of the Glen Moray Distillery, was a complete change from the usual theatre styled event.

The lecture was presented by Professor Tony Jones CBE, President of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and our Conference Support Team were required to install a full range Logic PA system to guarantee a good sound quality in such an unusual location. Plasma screens were used to relay the on screen presentations throughout the distillery cooperage.

An HCVF sound engineer and I/T staff were on hand throughout the event.

Conferencing in Thurso and Scrabster

Following on from the successful i-HERO roadshows which HCVF Television designed, built and manned for Careers Scotland throughout the Highlands and Islands, we have had a busy month in all departments.

In Thurso and Scrabster, the port for the Orkney Islands, the HCVF teams set up events for the Caithness Partnership in two separate venues. In the "All Star Factory" Cinema Complex in Thurso, we installed and monitored the PA sound system for the Caithness Regeneration Conference, and videotaped the keynote address by Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond, for subsequent broadcast on YouTube.

For the second event, the "Caithness Youth Conference" we were asked to create a custom built set to accommodate one hundred young delegates, and a number of break out areas in the Weigh Inn Hotel in Scrabster. The HCVF team were also required to participate in two of the workshops, teaching young delegates the basics on how to produce a (Video On Demand) Vodcasting programme using Windows Movie Maker. Their objective for the workshop was to create a vodcast about Caithness in the year 2018.

Careers trial a success!

Careers Scotland awarded HCVF a prestigious contract for a series of nine i-Hero careers events, which have now successfully taken place throughout the length and breadth of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

HCVF Conferencing and Events Department designed and built a massive lightweight aluminium trussing set for i-Hero- 4 metres high by 12 metres wide at the stage end, and 2.6 metres high by 23 metres wide side wall sections, with four graphics panels and three 3.5 metre Jolastic back projection video screens in each wall. The first i-Hero two-day event in Orkney was attended by around 250 secondary school students.
